******************BEWARE OF BRADFORD UNIVERSITY****************** After studying a foundation year at the University of Bradford I can thankfully now tell people I have progressed from that dump on to Leeds university not only a more highly regarded uni but also a generally friendlier and culturally tolerant studying environment.
POTENTIAL STUDENTS PLEASE READ ON
Students please forgive me as I am going to guess your preconceptions about reading pessimistic reviews. I would imagine you’re thinking my comments are going to be mere subjective rants from a disgruntled ex student. To be perfectly honest you’re pretty much on the money if that’s your way thinking. So please allow me to explain some key point I feel need to be addressed for the benefit of prospective students who aren’t given the full picture in the prospectus or on any open days organised by the university.   
ACCOMMODATION
Although I anticipated that my living conditions wouldn’t match those of royalty as I opted for the cheapest accommodation on offer what I didn’t anticipate was what only can be described as un-sanitised living conditions. Toilets were constantly leaking excrement leaving horrific smells lingering around halls and also the washing facilities were very primitive. Attempting to report any defects at the student reception were met with dispassion from aloof, part time staff , which if I remember correctly were described somewhat differently throughout various pieces of literature I read through before attending Bradford university.  
UNIVERSITY & CITY BOYS- If like me one of the reasons you decide to invest in university is the student lifestyle including girls then DO NOT ATTEND THE UNIVERISTY OF BRADFORD. The majority of girls, in my experience are just not interested.  Both Leeds universities offer a much better selection of beauties.
GIRLS- White chicks expect abuse and intimidation you are in a minority and you will be reminded of this! How Bradford is classed as a city mystifies me. There is nothing there! Pubs and Clubs I could count with both hands. For decent nights out, Leeds is the only option or alternatively Manchester isn’t a million miles away.  
CULTURE
To say Bradford is a multi cultural university would be the fairest label to place on it. Pakistani, Chinese, Polish, Greek, African all make up significant numbers within the university. Being white and British it was very easy to feel part of a minority at the University of Bradford. I also honestly felt a majority of services at the university were giving preferential treatment in accommodating foreign student’s needs.  As a white Brit I, at times, felt discriminated against.  Clearly unable to speak out for fear of being branded a racist this sometimes became very frustrating when girl friend would be spoke to in very derogatory ways.  
CONCLUSION
All in all the University of Bradford for me, on an educational level, was  beneficial however the pro’s were much outweighed by the con’s. I for a substantial time before taking up a place at the university of Bradford in 2007 was very excited at the prospect of moving away from home and the whole university life. Although I did make a few friends yet not as many as I would of hoped for as many were reclusive foreigners, I unfortunately have a lot of bitter memories of a time which should have been amazing and the best years of my life!
