PUSH POLL
How amazing is Holly's poll?
How brilliant is this poll? Is it the best you've ever had?
Bolton is a busy industrial town – think Phoenix Nights – and the area around the University is something of a strip mall. It’s the newest university in the North West (it changed its name to reflect its university status in 2005), although its origins as a centre for vocational and educational training date back to the 19th century. Just outside the town centre the main Deane campus is a child of the 60s and the smaller Chadwick campus nearby has the arty students and the greenery ... more detail Large numbers of mature students and locals means that the University is more of a drop-in lecture centre than a cosy student bubble, although that’s not to say there’s nothing in the way of ribaldry and frolicking – just on a smaller scale than at other places. Big on professional courses: business and materials-based subjects are the big boomers. Teaching is spread throughout the day (9am-9pm) so there’s flexibility in learning (or drinking) schedules ... more on academic There’s not a lot happening on the ents front – maybe 2008’s new SU building will jazz things up ... more on entertainment Guaranteed accommodation for first years, good wheelchair access and £300 bursaries for the insolvent ... more on welfare

Absolutely terrible in all aspects. The sports centre consists of a gym and 5-a-side indoor football. Staff are highly unhelpful. Computer facilities are poor at best. And on the plus side, there are five cafes selling poor quality, over priced food and drinks.
