RVC exists for the sole purpose of teaching people to be vets. Its main site is just over a mile from central London in Camden, with its eclectic mix of trendy young things, tourists and a small farm ... more detail Students spend two years at the redbrick Camden site before moving over to rural Hawkshead (a couple of miles from Hatfield) to do their clinical study. Teaching generally takes place in small groups, with an obvious focus on practical experience (Hawkshead has a huge farm) ... more on academic There’s a much closer relationship between students and staff than in many universities, with tutor-tutee socials a common occurrence ... more on the SU Entertainment is obviously more readily found in Camden rather than Hawkshead, but the infamous 12-hour ball each year knocks many other unis’ socks off ... more on entertainment The majority of sports facilities are to be found on the Hawkshead campus. Trainee vets are clearly a sporty crowd – RVC have taken home the Small College’s Cup for the past two years running, although they've a way to go in the student sports league ... more on sports Almost all first years can be housed and all rooms on the Camden site are en suite ... more on housing
